NORWOOD--The funeral for Reginald G. Murray, 76, of 14 Bicknell Street, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Philips Episcopal Church with the Rev. Brian Kellington officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Riverside Cemetery.
Mr. Murray died Friday morning at Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Potsdam, where he had been a patient since March 6.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Buck Funeral Home, Norwood.
He worked at the Norwood A&P from 1947 to 1952 and then worked for Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. as a lineman from 1952 to 1988.
He was a member of St. Philips Episcopal Church, a 57-year member of the St. Regis Hunting Club, member of the Apple Hill Hunting Club, former member of the Norwood Fire Department and a member of the Norwood American Legion. He was an avid New York Yankees fan and enjoyed going to school sporting events, gardening, bowling, fishing and doing crossword puzzles.
Born Jan. 17, 1927, in Norwood, son of Earl and Gertrude Henderson Murray, he attended Norwood High School and served in the Navy from 1944 to 1946.
He married Barbara E. LaBrake on June 20, 1948, at St. Philips Episcopal Church with the Rev. Frank R. Hughes officiating.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons and their wives, Garth and Stephanie, Norfolk, and Bruce and Suzanne, Raymondville; two daughters and their husbands, Jackie and Edward Lyons, Raymondville, and Christine and Michael Greene, Cedar Hill, Texas; two brothers, Dean and Rodney, both of Norwood; a sister, Jean Pelletier, Colton, and nine grandchildren.
Three brothers, Donald, Russell and Douglas, died before him.
Donations may be made to the Potsdam Rescue Squad or the Norwood American Legion.
