James W. Narrow

Steamfitter, plumber

NORWOOD--A spring graveside service for James W. Narrow, 83, Stuart, Fla., formerly of Norwood and LaFargeville, will be held in Riverside Cemetery with military honors.

Mr. Narrow died Nov. 22 at Martin Memorial Medical Center, Stuart.

He retired as a steamfitter and plumber in 1986, after having been a member of Plumbers Union 73 for 47 years.

He was a life member of Klock-Smith American Legion Post 1588, LaFargeville, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Hobe Sound, Fla., and the Marine Corps League.

Born May 8, 1919, in Norwood, son of Walter and Margaret Narrow, he graduated from Norwood High School and attended Canton Agricultural and Technical Institute. A veteran of World War II, he served in the Second Marine Corps Division at the Brooklyn Navy Yard and overseas in the Pacific theater of operations and Japan.

He married Barbara Ann Hoyt on June 25, 1943, at the Methodist church, Queens Village, L.I.

Surviving besides his wife are three sons, Ted, Shawn and James, all of LaFargeville, and two grandchildren.
