Miss Esther Powell, daughter of the late Frank Powell and Mrs. Margaret Powell of Norwood, died Wednesday, Feby. 15, at the Boston General Hospital after a brief illness. The body was brought to Norwood and burial services held Saturday in the Congregational church with interment at Riverside Cemetery. Miss Powell was a graduate of Norwood High School, Cornell University, did social service work in New York City, post graduate studies Simmons College, the University of Chicago and Smith College. She also taught in Lincoln (Ill.) University of Pittsburgh before going to Boston. She was 38 years old and is survived by her mother, two sisters, Mrs. George Flint, Hempstead, L.I. And Mrs. Cecil Folmer, Kansas City, and an uncle and aunt, Mr. And Mrs. Willis J. Fletcher, Norwood.
