NORFOLK--The funeral for Clara J. Ramsey, 95, of 2 Joy Road, will be at 3 p.m. today at St. Raymond’s Church, Raymondville, with the Rev. J. Everett Denesha, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Norwood.

Mrs. Ramsey died Monday at Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Potsdam.

Calling hours are 1 to 2:30 p.m. today at Buck Funeral Home.

She was a housekeeper and cleaner for area families and was employed at Sunset Lodge, Norwood.

Born July 19, 1910, in Norfolk, daughter of Ernest and Elizabeth Newtown Ryan, she married Charles A. Ramsey on Sept. 27, 1930. He died Nov. 23, 1972.

Surviving are five nephews, Bernard Purvis and Harry Ryan, both of Norfolk, Harold Ryan, Waddington, William Ryan, Florida, and Paul Ryan, Alabama; seven nieces, Mrs. Earl "Joe" (Diana) Prunner, who was her caregiver, Mary Eurto and Shirley and Claudia Ryan, all of Norfolk, Maude Simons, Fort Edwards, Nellie Beaulieu, Massena, and Lillian Casler, Syracuse, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Two brothers, Floyd and Dennis Ryan, two sisters, Martha Purvis and Beulah Daggett, two nieces and a nephew died before her.
