NORWOOD--Beverly J. Reed, 65, of 19 Pine St., died Monday evening in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse, while visiting her daughter Julie Morse.

Mrs. Reed was an operator for New York Telephone Co., Potsdam, and was a clerk at McCormick’s Grocery Store.

She was a past member of the Norwood Fire Department Auxiliary and played bass in the country band Wagoniers.

Born June 25, 1937, in Potsdam, she was a daughter of Maurice and Belva Gerboth Newton.

She married Gerald Reed on Feb. 18, 1956.

Surviving besides her husband and her mother, of Norwood, are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Julie and Frederick Morse, Liverpool, Robin and Steven Stone, Potsdam, and Michelle Reed, Syracuse; four brothers Maurice Newton, Waddington, and David, Joe and Bruce Newton, all of Potsdam; six sisters, Mrs. Mitch (Wanda) Mitchell, Newburgh, Mrs. Thomas (Roberta) Williams, Penn Yan, Mrs. John (Sharyl) Natske, Ballston Spa, Mrs. Carl (Maureen) King and Mrs. John (Kathy) Grady, both of Norwood, and Diana, last name and address unknown, and three grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Norwood United Methodist Church with the Revs. Thomas Jones and Lee Sweeney officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Buck Funeral Home.

Donations may be made to the American Heart Association, the Norwood Fire Department or the Sisters of the Precious Blood, Watertown.
