Rollin D. Reed

 

(August 12, 1851-July 15, 1938)

 

Rollin D. Reed, 88, a resident of Norwood, died at the Potsdam hospital Friday last, where he had been a patient since July 1. Death resulted from complications arising from a fractured hip received some time ago and the infirmities of old age.

He was born in Norwood, Aug. 12, 1851, a son of David and Mary Ann Reed. He had been employed for many years as a carpenter for the sash and door factory in Norwood.

Mr. Reed married Miss Jane Munson, daughter of Henry and Sarah Smith Munson, residents of the town of Stockholm, in a ceremony performed at the parsonage of the Norwood Congregational church, Dec. 30, 1874. They resided in Norwood since their marriage. They had no children.

Mr. Reed was a member of the Norwood Masonic order and of the Congregational church.

Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the home. Rev. F. E. Loan, pastor of the Methodist church, officiated. Burial was made in Norwood.
