James Richardson

 

(May 5, 1940--August 6, 1974)

 

NORWOOD--Funeral services for James Allen Richardson, 34, of Route 1, Norwood, were held Thursday, Aug. 8, 1974 at 11 a.m. at the Buck Funeral Home. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.

Mr. Richardson died Thursday, Aug. 6, 1974 at the Potsdam Unit, Central St. Lawrence Health Services, where he had been a patient since July 15. He had previously been hospitalized at Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Susan Spoor Richardson; two sons, James Jr., five, and Robert, two, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert J. Richardson of Norwood; a brother, Herbert Jr., of San Francisco, Calif., and his maternal grandfather, Earl Claffey, of Norwood.

Born in Potsdam May 5, 1940, a son of Herbert J. and Marian Claffey Richardson, he was graduated from Norwood High School.

He married Susan Spoor of Norwood at the Norwood United Methodist Church July 6, 1968.

Mr. Richardson was a machinist at Alcoa in Massena and had served in the Air Force four years. He was a member of the Norwood United Church of Christ and the Norwood Fire Department.

The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Norfolk Rescue Squad or the American Cancer Society.
