NORWOOD--Fannie F. Ruger, 95, formerly of Norwood, died Wednesday morning at St. Regis Nursing Home, Massena, where she had resided since April 15, 2003.
Mrs. Ruger was a homemaker.
Born April 18, 1910, in Degrasse, daughter of Orvis and Mary Jane Craig Ells, she married Julian Ruger on June 7, 1933, in Norwood. He died Feb. 16, 1974.
She was a member of the Norwood Free Methodist Church, where she was former church secretary, a more than 50-year Sunday school teacher and a member of the Womens Missionary Society.
Surviving are two sons, Richard, Munnsville, and Rodney, Oregon City, Ore.; three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Mary Jane) MacDonald, Norwood, Mrs. Robert (Esther) Briggs, Warners and Evelyn Knowlton, Waddington, 15 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Two half brothers, Arthur and Archie Smith, a sister, Florence Baldick, a granddaughter and a great-grandson died before her.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Norwood Free Methodist Church with her son, the Rev. Rodney Ruger, the Rev. Robert Billings and the Rev. Edwin Wright officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Buck Funeral Home.
