Alton E. Scott

Native of Potsdam

POTSDAM--Alton E. Scott, 44, Adkins Road, Salisbury, Md., a native of Potsdam, died of a heart attack Thursday at McCready Hospital, Crisfield, Md.

Mr. Scott worked in a managerial position at Standard Register Co., Salisbury.

Born Jan. 2, 1954, in Potsdam, son of Reginald and Elizabeth Ann Brouse Scott, he was a 1972 graduate of Norwood-Norfolk Central School, Norwood, and served in the Navy from 1972 to 1976.

He married Melissa Burnette on Dec. 15, 1995, in Salisbury. A previous marriage, to Leah Ann Whalen of Potsdam, ended in divorce.

Mr. Scott was a golfer, a wood craftsman and an antiques collector. He raised exotic chickens and roosters.

Surviving are three sons from his first marriage, Alton Christian, Trevor John and Seth Michael, all of Potsdam; a stepdaughter, Lauren Carver, at home, three brothers, Shane, Watertown, Shawn, Massena, and Shannon, Delmar, Md.; five sisters, Pamela Lucidi, Salisbury, LaVonne Lucidi, Charlotte, N.C., Betsy Levison, Camillus, Priscilla Fitzpatrick and Sherri Martin, both of Watertown; his stepfather, William C. Spencer, Norwood, and 19 nieces and nephews.

His mother, Elizabeth Ann Brouse Spencer, died in 1988.

A spring memorial service will be held in Norwood. Arrangements are with Short Funeral Home, Delmar.
