(April 7, 1926--May 26, 1999) NORFOLK--Donald C. Spencer, 73, of 28 Hepburn St., died Wednesday morning in Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Potsdam, where he had been a patient since Tuesday. Mr. Spencer served in the Marine Corps during World War II and was a pot room attendant for the Aluminum Company of America until his retirement in 1986. Born April 7, 1926, in Canton, son of Frank C. and Mary H. Cuthbert Spencer, he attended Norwood High School. He married Theresa Payne on Feb. 19, 1950, at the First Methodist Church, Norwood, with the Rev. William C. Wood officiating. He was a member of Norfolk Rod and Gun Club and the Alcoa 25-Year Club. Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Donmark, Binghamton, and Frank, at home; two daughters, Mrs. John (Lynn) Rose, Unionville, and Mrs. Patrick (Lori) Dufresne, Binghamton; a brother, Kenneth, West Stockholm; five sisters, Mrs. Jerry (Doris) Laramy, Norwood, Shirley Pommervile, Rochester, Beatrice Santimaw, Hammond, Jean Spencer, Rochester, and Rose Spencer, Raymondville; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Frank C., and a sister, Frances M. Walker, died before him. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with Buck Funeral Home. Donations may be made to Norfolk Volunteer Rescue Squad or a charity of one's choice.

He died yesterday morning at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital where he had been a patient since May 25. He is survived by: his wife Theresa; two sons, Donmark, Binghamton, Frank, at home; two daughters, Mrs. John (Lynne) Rose, Unionville, Mrs. Patrick (Lori) Dufrense, Binghamton; six grandchiuldren; five sisters, Mrs. Jerry (Doris) Laramay, Norwood, Mrs. Shirley Pommerville, Rochester, Mrs. Beatrice Santimaw, Hammond, Ms. Jean Spencer, Rochester, Rose Spencer, Raymondville. He was born April 7, 1926 in Canton, the son of Frank and Mary (Cuthbert) Spencer. He married Theresa Payne on Feb. 19, 1950. He was employed at ALCOA as a pot room attendant and retired in 1986. He was a member of the Norfolk Rod and Gun Club and served in the U.S. Marines during World War II. Memorial donations may be made to the Norfolk Rescue Squad or to a charity of one's choice.
