Assembly line worker

POTSDAM--Dorothy M. Tedford, 63, of 413 Midtown Apartments, died Monday in Canton-Potsdam Hospital, where she had been a patient since Aug. 17.

Mrs. Tedford was an assembly line worker at General Motors Corp. in Massachusetts.

Born Aug. 2, 1941 in Potsdam, daughter of Walter and Marion Boucier Murray, she married Thomas Gang. The marriage ended in divorce. A later marriage to Edward Richards ended in divorce. She then married Arthur Tedford. He died before her.

She enjoyed working on craft projects and playing card games and bingo.

Surviving are a son, Steven Murray, Potsdam; three daughters, Nyoka Richards and Christine Laraby, both of Potsdam, and Patricia Richards, Worcester, Mass.; two brothers, Francis Murray, West Stockholm and Terry Murray, Ogdensburg; a sister and her husband, June and Emile Poirier, Cornwall, Ontario, and eight grandchildren.

A son, Edward "George" Richards, and two sisters, Marilyn Weaver and Joyce Pharo, died before her.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Buck Funeral Home, Norwood, with the Rev. Raymond J. Moreau, pastor of St. Patrick’s Church, Colton, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Norwood. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
