Alaska Resident

NORWOOD--David A. Tiernan, 45, North Pole, Alaska, formerly of Norwood, died May 1 in Alaska, after suffering a heart attack. Mr. Tiernan had been a resident of Alaska for several years. Born Feb. 26, 1953, in Potsdam, a son of Robert and Natalie DeGouff Tiernan, he was a 1972 graduate of Norwood-Norfolk Central School and married Debbie Petrosky. Surviving are his stepmother, Ellen Tiernan, Rochester; a son, Aaron R., Anchorage, Alaska; a brother, Wayne P., Nicholville; a stepbrother, Robert Tiernan, Rochester; two sisters, Sandra M. Burnett, Norwood, and Terri A. Greenwood, Ripley, W. Va.; a stepsister, Phyllis Tebo, Duane, and several nephews and nieces. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Riverside cemetery with Joachim VanElls, lay minister of Holy Cross Church, Hopkinton, officiating. Arrangements are with Seymour Funeral Home, Potsdam.
