NORWOOD--Ellen Mary Tiernan, 90, Hamlin, formerly of Norwood, died Monday in Brockport Lakeside Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Tiernan was a homemaker. Born March 15, 1911, in Coudersport, Pa., daughter of Frank and Gertrude Nunn McCann, she married Robert E. Tiernan on Jan. 10, 1930, in Norwood. He died Aug. 23, 1992. She was a member of American Legion Post 68 Auxiliary and had been a resident of Hamlin for 11 years. Surviving are a son and his wife, Robert J. and Marjorie, Hamlin; a daughter and her husband, Phyllis and Kenneth Thibeau, Duane; a half brother, Frank McCann, San Diego, Calif., and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A sister, Edith Ratowski, died before her. A memorial service will be at 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with members of the American Legion Auxiliary meeting at 7 p.m. Donations may be made to Hospice Visiting Nurses Foundation, 2180 Empire Blvd., Webster, N.Y. 14580.
