Henry Van Ornam, aged 72 years, and a lifelong resident of Norwood, died suddenly at his home in Elm street at 11 Wednesday evening. He was ill only a few minutes and heart trouble was given as the cause of death. Mr. Van Ornam was born at Fort Jackson, N.Y., but came to Norwood when a small boy and had lived here continuously since. He was employed for many years as a hostler at the old R.W. & O. engine house and was very well known by the older railroad men. He is survived by his wife and one son, George Van Ornam, of Norfolk, N.Y. The funeral was held at the family home at 2 Friday with burial at Riverside cemetery, Rev. A. F. Eliott officiating.
