Carpenter, Cabinetmaker

COLTON--Edwin J. White, 81, of 40 Symond Square, died Tuesday evening at Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Potsdam.

Mr. White was a self-employed carpenter and cabinetmaker.

Born Jan. 19, 1920, in Philadelphia, Pa., he was a son of Raymond S. Ruth Phillips White.

He served in the Navy Seabees from 1942 to 1945.

A marriage to Ethel Ruth Cole in 1940 ended in divorce in 1953.

He married Annadean Stacer on Sept. 12, 1975.

Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Edwin J. Jr., California, and William R., Williamsburg, Va.; two daughters, Ruth White, Charlottesville, Va., and Barbara Cole, Toronto, Ontario; a stepson, Barry Gregor, Canton; a sister, Madeline Burns, Evansville, Ind., 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Two brothers, Raymond Jr. and Vaughn, died before him.

There will be no funeral or calling hours. The body was donated to Upstate Medical University, Syracuse. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Norwood.

Arrangements are with Buck Funeral Home.

(Edwin White lived at 21 Spring Street, Norwood for many years and did custom woodworking in the building behind the house. Before that, his father, Ray White also did custom woodworking at the same location. CBM).
