Lyle Worley

 

(August 9, 1924--January 18, 1979)

 

NORWOOD--Funeral services for Lyle (Pete) Worley, 54, of 9 River St., Norwood, were held Sunday, Jan. 21, 1979 at the Buck Funeral Home, Norwood, with Rev. Lee L. Hunt officiating. Spring burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Norwood.

Mr. Worley died Thursday, Jan. 18, 1979 at Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse, after a short illness.

Surviving are his mother, Beulah, Norwood; a son, Michael, Atlantic, Ga.; four daughters, Mrs. Randy (Margaret) Irwin, Massena; Mrs. David (Lydia) Newell, Houston, Texas; Miss Joyce Worley, Tucson, Ariz.; and Mrs. Charles (Robin) Varney, Unionville; three brothers, Mark, Central Square; John, Norwood; and Leonard Jr., New Jersey; and three grandchildren.

Mr. Worley was born in Norwood, Aug. 9, 1924, the son of Leonard and Beulah Deugaw Worley. He attended Norwood Schools. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II, and was wounded in Germany.

He married the former June Cassidy; they lived most of their lives in the Norwood area. He was a crane operator for ConRail for the past nine years.
