NORWOOD--Funeral services for Laura Sykes Young, 96, formerly of Norwood, will be held Sunday at 5 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 1030 Ridge Road, Webster, Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Norwood.

Calling hours will be held Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Young died Wednesday (Nov. 2, 2005) in Fairport.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Glenn and Rosemary Young of Tucson, Ariz., Carol and William Sullivan of Laguna Niguel, Calif., Neil and Daili Young of Webster, Dale and Patricia Young of Green Valley, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren, Vicki Hoover, Doug, Mike and Jeff Young, Scott, Steven, Spencer and Shane Sullivan, Mark, Kris and Keith Young, Annette Seas, Sean and Brian Young; 26 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Harold W. Young; a sister, Edna Widrig; and three brothers, Harold, Arnold and Russell Sykes.

She was born Jan. 5, 1909 in Galeton, Pa., the daughter of the late Charles E. and Louie (Stephens) Sykes.

She graduated from the Potsdam Normal School in 1931.

She married Harold W. Young on July 5, 1932.
